pdf wont open in adobe if opened from link in email

We are trialing one of the Microsoft purchase approval flows.

The flow itself works fine but because we are working with PDF we want to open the approved documents using adobe.

If we open the document using the link in the email it opens in a web browser so we can’t sign the document using adobe.

If we open it directly from SharePoint it’s fine, any ideas?

    Hey @ninjin

Assuming it's Outlook Desktop Client?  Or is it web client?

If it's desktop client, just wonder if it is worth you looking at default apps by file type?  If you go to settings, followed by default apps, at the bottom of the page there is default apps by file type.  Windows will be following this route when you open a file from Outlook Desktop Client and so I guess you need to change the default to the reader.

Obviously if it's outlook on the web, let me know and I will get my thinking hat on!

    Hi Damien,

it's the desktop client, and the default apps by file type is already set.

It's just if the link in the email is opened it opens with Edge or Firefox and not adobe.

It its opeed directly from the sharepoint folder it uses adobe?
