Hello
I am looking for advice on how to automate the following:
1. Login into a website using username and password
2. Click on links in that website in a specific order (the links are at the top of the page and also in the sidebar) to arrive at the download page
3. Fill in details and select checkboxes on that download page
4. Click the download button.
5. The file will be downloaded to my desktop and i would like to automate it to be renamed with today's date and time, and then uploaded to a folder on SharePoint.
Can this whole process be automated? If yes, would it be possible to do with only the web version of Power Automate? I'm new to Power Automate, so i'm looking for a relatively simple solution that would not require advanced programming...
Any advice on the best possible approach would be much appreciated!
Many thanks for the prompt and useful reply!
Hey, Web scrapping or Web automation is not possible in Cloud flow. You need Power Automate Desktop which is free. You can automate power automate desktop flow with power automate cloud flow. But you need to pay Microsoft for this 🙂
Hi, did you succeed in this task? I'm trying to do the same thing now, very confused...... Thanks!
Hi,
Did you succeed in this? I'm trying to do the same using cloud flow. Thanks!
Same here. I don't have desktop power automate, I am trying to do with power automate web.
Hi,
Did you ever get a solution to this? I'm trying to do the same thing with a cloud flow (as I haven't got PA desktop)..
Thanks!
I have a follow up question on the original one, can we crate browser automate using cloud flow?
- I would like to make the flow - desktop independent and hence looking for options on browser automation which can be done through cloud flow / any other alternate way, where my desktop need not be ON?
Thanks - Kd
Hi @Anonymous,
I would suggest to create a desktop flow for this within Power Automate. Most of the steps you want to automate can probably be executed with actions from Browser Automation category:
