Connection to an online SharePoint (error api execution)

  • Dear Power Automate Community,

seeking insights, support and maybe help on my issue:

I have one MS Flow in place since several month - working properly. Our Flow is picking a file from a Shared Folder and should copy/paste it to an Online SharePoint location. But since yesterday - the last step of the Flow is having issues connecting to an Online SharePoint.

This is the error which is thrown by the Flow:

    Error executing the API '/datasets/https%253A%252F%252Fnxp1-portal13.sharepoint.com%252Fsup%252Frdo%252FPCPIT/rootfolders'

We tried already everything: raising a new Flow with different users, renewing the individual connections etc. Always getting the same error message.

Has someone experienced a similar issue or has any insight which could help us maybe?

Any reply is appreciated and more than welcome.

    Thanks and kind regards

    Anna

    Hello @Anonymous

Have you tried re adding the connection?

Click the 3 dots on the action, and click the Add new connection button.

    Hi Jcook,

sure, tried that several times already. Renewed the connection to SharePoint.

    Any other idea?

    Kind regards

    Hi again,

maybe important to add - I am able to connect to a different online SharePoint. This connection is working very nicely w/o any issue. Just this location is making troubles...

I checked with the Owner if my permission have been changed, but that is not the case. The thing is, that also my colleague, who tried to build the Flow from scratch is experiencing the same issue.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi @Anonymous

How are you populating the SharePoint site address field?

Can you confirm that the site address is the same as the URL of your homepage in that SharePoint site.

    For example:

    Jcook_0-1597081412374.png

    and check the URL

    Jcook_1-1597081481428.png

Try using the base URL for the Site Address instead of selecting from dropdown.

Do this by copy and pasting the URL, and selecting 'Enter custom value'

    Hi Jcook,

I can confirm that I did the following already:

    • Secured that I have fully access to the SharePoint site - reconfirmed with Owner of the site
    • Compared the URL tons of times
    • Inserted the URL from clipboard and from drop-down

Also my colleagues (who have access too) tried it. W/o success. Tried to rebuild the entire flow from scratch. W/o success.

Yesterday, one person from our IT team - completely external from our team - did a new connection with his user ID and the URL was working for him, but only with his own new SharePoint connection. This brings me to the feeling, that is has something to do with my credentials or user account. BUT it is not explaining why my colleagues have the same problems....

    Kind regards

    Anna
