Sudden fail on the flow

Hello,

I have had a flow set up and working fine for about 6 weeks now. Today it has failed all of the sudden and I do not understand why. I'm very new to the Power Automate and use mainly tutorials. Can someone help me and explain how to fix it? I haven't changed anything except the name of the flow to stay organised.

OpenApiOperationParameterTypeConversionFailed. The 'inputs.parameters' of workflow operation 'Create_item' of type 'OpenApiConnection' is not valid. Error details: Input parameter 'item/Submittedby' is required to be of type 'Number/double'. The runtime value '""' to be converted doesn't have the expected format 'Number/double'.

    Can you share the screenshot in design mode?

    Hey,

    What is weird for me is that I had one successful run  since then and three failed.

    When users fill out the form, are they specifying a value for 'Count of sanded areas'?

    You can investigate the triggers of the failed flows to see if the field is left blank.

    It appears that a null value may be the underlying issue.

    Yes but only for certain process step. The one flow that was successful has that filed filled in. But it also worked for several weeks before that

    Hey,

    I have tested it and yes the issue is with the fact that the count of areas sanded is not always included in the form.

    Is there a way to fix it? It worked fine before so I do not understand what caused it.

    @NewbyUser

    You can add this expression to prevent it

    if(empty('Your field from the form'),0,'Your field from the form')

    Follow up question - If I'd like the value to be returned as empty instead of 0 when this value is not necessary, what can I put into the formula instead of 0? Will "" work?

    If the datatype in SharePoint is number, you need to specify 0, otherwise try null.
