Hello Community,
I'm trying to use the on-premises gateway to connect to the file system on my desktop computer as part of a flow. The gateway and my connection system to be fine, but I continue to receive an error 400 when the flow runs to access the file system to check if a new or modified file exists. Also, when I try to specify the folder in the trigger settings, I receive this error:
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Thanks!
Glen Justis
Hello, @GJustis!
Have you had an opportunity to apply @dimi‘s recommendation to adapt your Flow? If yes, and you find that solution to be satisfactory, please go ahead and click “Accept as Solution” so that this thread will be marked for other users to easily identify!
Thank you for being an active member of the Flow Community!

I faced similar issues and while i followed every step described here or antwhere els i found similar issue, none of them solved my problems.
However creating a new user on the PC and added this user to the administrators group, worked and solved my problems.
So seems to me my default admin account which i use has some other restriction or configuration compared to the newly created account...
Hope this helps some one
The easiest way to find out would be to ask your IT department the name of the domain used to log into your organization in the require format (<domain name>\<username>). Depending on your operating system, the domain information will be visible below your user name when you log into your computer (not unlock). If you have Windows 10, click the "Windows" button in the lower left hand corner and select your user account, it will then display the account you're logged in as, including the domain.
Good luck!
Thanks very much. I'm not clear what what my "domain name" is for simply logging onto my computer. Could you provide an example? Thanks again!
Glen, I was able to get my Flow working by going into the "Connection" and changing the way I input my credentials using the following:
Root folder = c:\
Authentication Type = Windows
Username = <domain name>\<your user name>
**** make sure your domain name is the same one you use to log into your LAN\WAN. This is not your web domain
Password = <your domain password>
Gateway = <the name of the gateway you set-up>
Once you have your connection set-up you should be able to click on the image the folder on your "File System" action and then select "Temp" or whatever.
I hope that helps! My hangup was on the domain name. I was using my webdomain and not the domain used for AD.
Hi Mona,
Thanks for your reply. Its still not working, and I believe I have followed the steps correctly as far as I can tell in the links you provided. Is more information available on how to specifiy the root folder and credentials for the File System connector? I'm simply trying to connect to my local file system. Currently, I'm trying to test it using the folder c:\Test. How do I specify this properly? Also, for the connector credentials, do I use my Flow account credentials or my local computer logon credentials? Or, do I use the credentials I used when I created the gateway? This is all very confusing I appreciate your help.

Hi Mona, I'm running into the same problems described by GJustis. I've followed the links you provided and I'm able to use the On-Prem Data Gateway to connect a Power BI report to an On-Prem SP list so I know the Gateway works. I've tried using the "File System to SharePoint" template and also "Create from blank" with no success. I've deleted and recreated the Connector several times and still not success. I'm using the same User Account at the Connector as used in the Gateway and still no success.
I've searched both Bing and Google for support and was unable to find anyone with a similar problem. Where can I find help to resolve this issue?
Thanks
Brent
Hi @GJustis,
The issue is that the connection actually didn't connected successfully. Please try to recreate the connector, make sure that you have followed the steps correctly:
