How to Pass Text over 255 Characters to Word Plain Text Control

I am trying to come up with a process that would pass long text strings of text to a employment contract using plain text control.  What I would like to do is place these placeholders in multiple areas of the contract and a have the user pass through these strings of text esentially like a menu items of things to add to the contract.  Before I go further I was advised that Plain Text Content control is only to a maximum of 255 characters.  Do I have other options to accomplish the samet hing.

The single line text field is limited to 255 characters. If you ust a multiline text field, which you can set to plain text, it accepts 63,999 characters.

NO errors yet, I was just advised that it was limited to 255 characters so I did not proceed further.  I will test out @David-  solution below.  Thank you for your time and responding.
