Connecting to SQL Managed Instance

Hi Everyone,

New to Power Automate and trying to connect to a SQL Managed Instance with no luck.  I'm trying to use SQL credentials which I know work, but when creating the connector I just get an error saying "Something went wrong. Please try again later." with no other context.  I'm able to create a connection to a standalone Azure SQL db and I don't see any documentation that says the Managed Instance isn't supported.

@jacquimuller I tried every which way to connect via on-prem gateway. But it does not seem to be working. Did you use Windows or SQL Server authentication? Also are you adding the :port suffix? TIA

Yeah I had the same situation, On Prem Gateway worked although it's actually a hack - Azure DB's should 'just work'.

This was a very well hid gem that answered quite a few of my questions; https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/sql/

You'll need to use the private route and setup an "On Premise Data Gateway". That's what I ended up doing. Then you configure the connector to run through that Gateway.

I don't know of a way to use the Public Endpoint on an MI.

Did you get an answer to this? I am looking for the same solution.  I also have been able to connect to Azure SQL Server, but not an Azure SQL Instance
