Hi, the user who clicks the monitor link is receiving the below error. The error doesn't occur when I give the user System Administrator Security Role:
I assume it must be a permission in one of the system tables, but no idea which one it could be...
Does the user have Maker permission in the environment? Is it their app or is it an app you built and you want to monitor them using it. You need either Environment Admin or Environment Maker role to use the monitor. But that is all that should be required.
Ahh ok, well no, the user has a custom Security Role, allowing access to the relevant tables.
Seems strange this would only be permitted by those two roles only, as surely it makes sense to be able to monitor a user's session, regardless of their security role. In my scenario, I don't want users to be able to create apps in the environment. I'm hoping that there is a specific permission in both of these Security Roles that can be applied to my custom Security Role?...
I can't speak to why its done that way, but it is listed as a requirement in the documentation. Monitor overview - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn
