Simple File->Sharepoint flow failing for files above ~22mb

Hi All,

I have built a simple flow to take new and modified files from an on-prem file location and place in a Sharepoint Online folder. I seem to be hitting an filesize limit somewhere between 22mb and 24mb.

From what I have read I should be able to transfer files up to 50mb in this way.
I also tried creating a Logic App for the same process and it also fails.

My on-premises data gateway is of the current version at the time of this post.

    Hi @tmrrow,

Do you mean transferring files from Sharepoint on-prem to SharePoint online?

Could you provide a screenshot of your Flow configuration?

I did a test on my side, sorry that I don't have a SharePoint on-prem test environment. So I used the SharePoint onlie action throughout the testing process.

SharePoint connector does not make a significant difference between On-prem and Online, the restrictions should be the same.

I use Get file content-Create file to achieve the purpose of translating files.

    Flow configuration:

Flow is successfully run, and the file is successfully created. The file size exceeds 40M.

The reason for adding Delay is that it takes time to create a file of such a large size, you can set a delay for a certain time, and then observe whether the file was created successfully.

The file was successfully created and can be opened, as below:

If you are not using this method, you can give it a try, or provide more details about your Flow configuration, we would provide a proper workaround for you.

    Best Regards,

    Barry

    Hi Barry,

I was using the File System connectors and the On-Premises Data Gateway in order to access the on-prem file location. (an internal network share). The other side was Sharepoint Online.

I'll try a 5minute delay and see if that helps. Thanks.

    Hi @tmrrow,

    What is your current situation?

This is my another test result. When the file size exceeds 30M, Get file content will not work properly.

In conjunction with the previous test of SharePoint-Create file action, the possible file size limit may be due to File system-Get file action.

Hi, I agree that there seems to be a limit on the 'Get file content' action in Flow.
However I have hit this limit on files just above 22mb which is below 30mb.

I have a repeatable test involving a 22,710KB file succeeding in 37seconds while a file 26,516KB causes 4 retries on 'Get File Content' and ultimately times out the flow after 10minutes.
