Unable to add calculated column in Filter Query in Get Item step.

Hi everyone,

I have a problem while creating a flow to send a reminder when a deadline is due in 1 day considering the data from the SharePoint list.

The date column which I want to consider from the SharePoint list is the calculated column and I got an error saying I cannot insert a calculated column in Filter Query in Get Items step.

Is there a way to add a calculated column so that I can create my flow successfully?

Thank you so much in advance.

Best Regards

    Hi @Diksha2 ,

I don't think calculated columns are supported in Power Automate.

Rather create a new Number column and create a flow when an item is modifed where the flow does the calculation effectively mimicking a calculated column.

Then you can reference this new column in your query.

Please let me know if this helps you.

    Regards,

    Daniel

Could you please guide me on the way I can make this flow?

    Hi @Diksha2 ,

Here is a great video on expressions by Reza Dorrani https://youtu.be/O97IdCbfMQI.

Check timecode 11:52 on logic and math expressions to calculate the result of your new calculated column.

Embed the expression in an update item action for that column.

You can create a flow with a trigger when an item is modified and only when the columns that are used for the calculation are modified- see this video by April Dunnam https://youtu.be/xvmi21KomK0.

They can explain it better than me.

Please write back if this helped you and good luck in your journey.

    Regards,

    Daniel
