PAD Updates but no Release Notes

We just received notification of another Power Automate Desktop update: 2.15.284.21354.

Can we please see what has been fixed in these updates? A link to a website with associated release notes would be extremely helpful.

Thanks!

    Hey @rkaiserhuyett

The latest release contains a fix for the log4j vulnerability. There are no release notes, since this release specifically addresses that vulnerability and there is no added functionality to the product.

We are working on an in-product release notes viewer, that will improve the overall user experience when it comes to releases.

    Hi @kostasc ,

So, log4j vulnerability it not fixed in release 2.15.282.21349 or lower from december?

The new feature will be very welcome. Please post to the blogs when this has been added.

For future reference, many companies might not take a release if they do not know what has been updated or fixed. Even if a release just has bug fixes or a huge fix like the Log4J vulnerability, we would like to know.

More harm can be caused by not telling the users that you fixed the Log4J vulnerability, especially if they are weary of an update that we are just supposed to take without asking questions.

Thank you for working on a solution.

@kostasc The ability to see the detailed changes, particularly in terms of Action Name changes, moving functionality from one action group to another, etc., is critical for us to deploy new versions of PAD.

We ALL want continuous improvement, bug fixes, etc., as fast as possible.  However, those of us deploying commercial automations that affect real-world clients and perhaps affecting financial matters, need to know what we are updating otherwise we will need to delay updating, thus missing key new/modified functionality.

Hey @JimatRPath, we have multiple action items open to address this; the team is actively looking on the issue.

Hi Everyone. Just to confirm, is there currently no way to see release notes of Power Automate Desktop updates other than the articles that callout the biggest changes? (Articles such as this: https://powerautomate.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-automate-for-desktop-january-2022-update/)

I see "We are working on an in-product release notes viewer, that will improve the overall user experience when it comes to releases.", but this makes it sound like the release notes are viewable elsewhere just not in product. I would take an unformatted text file with information about changes, honestly.

I 100% agree.  I'd take a phone snapshot of handwritten text over NOTHING.

I really like the new release notes website. This is great information.

The only thing missing is a link to it on the install screens.

Neither one of these screens on the latest update, inform the user where to find information on what is in the update, before clicking the Install button. Can this be added?

    Thanks!
