"Failed to validate the signature of the actionable message card." upon approval

We have a power automate flow that reads a microsoft form, then sends for approval via email. This has been running fine since Oct 2023.

This morning users are unable to Approve or Decline any emails, getting the warning ""Failed to validate the signature of the actionable message card."

When reviewing this board there seems no deifinitive reason as to why it does this, sometimes being the fault of Microsoft themselves.

Anyone have any ideas i this is another microsft issue, and what I could do to resolve ?

    Hi @MrWatton ,

Error "Failed to validate the signature of the actionable message card" in Power Automate typically comes due to issues with the actionable message card format or the security validation mechanism.

Make sure JSON format of the actionable message card in your Power Automate flow aligns with Microsoft's standards.

Also Actionable messages must meet specific security requirements. Ensure that the originator property in the message card matches the registered provider ID in the Microsoft 365 Actionable Email Developer Dashboard.

For detailed guidance on creating and troubleshooting actionable message cards, refer to Microsoft's official documentation or resources such as the following YouTube tutorial on actionable message cards in emails: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Iz0gVnf7YU

Additionally, the Microsoft documentation on actionable message security requirements can be a valuable resource: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/actionable-messages/security-requirements

Please mark as solution if it helps.

    Thanks,

    Sandeep

Hi @sandeepstw , appreciate the response.

I wonder what has changed for it to stop working, it was testing fine for 3 months. Note im not doing anything custom with message cards, its all purely the basic "Start and wait for an approval" option.

I know if I change the "Assigned to" within "Start and wait for an approval" to myself, the approve/decline within the email works, but as soon as I change it to the responsible user I get that warning message within the recieved email.

Again, bit wierd for it to work for three months, then not.

Ive tried the youtube link but its not working any more, and the docs is way above my understanding so Im thinking at this point of removing the approval part for now. Shame, as it worked really well.

Has there been any news on this not working? It just started failing for me last week.

Is there a workaround for this issue?

    Thanks

I had the same issue, but if I click in teh message below and open online

it will redirect to the power automate approval page. I approved there and it worked fine.
There must be something in outlook blocking some content or it may be caused by using two MS accounts in the same computer.
I'm consultant and I have to use two.
    Hope it helps
