Performance Limits with Powerautomate | Multithread, Fast selectors

We are creating a SAAS service for small accounting firms based on Powerautomate. This market segment is price sensitive and cannot afford very expensive licenses such as automationanywhere and the likes.

We have builts our desktop robots on Azure cloud and we generally have several tensof customers at this point but we are hitting a technology limit.

Powerautomate has several gaps with respect to automationanywhere and the likes particularly:
1- you cannot launch a multithread job on a single virtual machine
2- the selectors are extremely slow compared to automationanywhere and UIPath

These are huge issues that far limit the range of application and the costs to use it , can you consult with an in house expert about these two huge issues, is there any mitigation to these?

Consider we work with a old legay software that some time, not always, requires optical recognition but we have seen speed perfromances on automation anywhere to be much superior. Is there any mitigation in powerautomate forbuilding real saas applications that could support hundreeds of customers?

Your use case is outside of the design envelope of Power Automate. Power Automate is targeted at infrequent micro transactions.

We had read somewhere in microsoft that there was a way to do multithread

1- in your opinion will the selector technology be improved any time soon?

2- will there be a way to do multithreading?

Yes, you can decide for each flow step that uses enumeration if you want to run them in parallel or sequentially. Most of the time that is not helping.

    Hi @lbendlin ,

some time ago a read this blog:

    1. Is it still valid to run multiple instances of UI flow with a windows server?

    Thanks

That article is referring to running multiple desktop flows, not cloud flows. I thought this question was about Power Automate, not Power Automated Desktop.

Your first point was that you are using Power Automate because automationanywhere is too expensive.  But then you want all the same features and benefits as automationanywhere. If you need the performance that automationanywhere provides then you need to buy that product.  If you want to pay a lower price for Power Automate then don't expect the same feature set.

this is low iq  answer. There is an entire market of businesses that cannot afford automation anywhere and uipath, microsoft has stepped in into this market to serve it. If they do they have to do it in a way that offer essential features. Migrating to automationywhere would need colossal license and most important man power costs taht my customers cannot afford to pay. As it is power automate cannot provide an industrial scale service, it is kind one off one user service.

your answer is totally unuseful because diverts the conversation. Multithreading and high-performance selectors are a must feature they are not optional for a reliable industrial scale solution. This is still aproduct oming from a premier brand and the minimum must be meet.

Multithreading and high-performance are not essential features.  Like everything else you get what you pay for.  Sorry that doesn't meet your world view, but complaining that MS doesn't offer everything you want for less than another product that does won't change what is being offered.  That's reality.
