How To: automatically share Teams recordings & alert the group

Hi All,

I teach a lecture course online via Teams.  Immediately after our Teams meeting (the lecture) ends,  I would like to set up an automated flow that

1) automatically share video access with an MS group (the students)

2) only gives students viewing rights

3) posts an alert to the course's MS Teams general channel alerting them of their ability to view the lecture.  (Yes, this is redundant... but needed.)

4) Sends an email to every student, containing a link to view the video and having a subject: "PHYS 4421: View Today's Lecture for xx/xx/2021"

Can anyone help or point to code that does something very similar?

Thanks Much.

    Hello, @xthought

I think a good way to start would be to find where your meetings are being stored when they get created. Find that folder (Play and share a meeting recording in Teams (microsoft.com)) so you can use one the following actions https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/business-apps/power-automate/sharepoint-connector-actions-triggers#when-an-item-is-created or https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/onedrive/#when-a-file-is-created.

Now, perhaps we could work on the folder permissions with this link right here Manage list item and file permissions with Power Automate | Microsoft Docs which should allow you to create a sharing link with the permissions already set. This will help us later when we use the "Send an email notification" action with the date format you described (you could use formatDateTime(utcNow(), 'MM-dd-yyyy') for that).

For the Microsoft Teams notification I would recommend you using "Post Message in Chat or Channel", I'll post a link to the documentation because there's a lot of similar actions that are now deprecated. (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/teams/#post-message-in-a-chat-or-channel

Let me know if this helps you start your flow! If I find a video with a similar flow, I'll be sure to post it!

    Cheers!

Did these instructions help you? I am also looking for how to share recordings automatically to eternal users or guests.

    Sincerely,
