Issues using When a new email arrives (V3)

Hi All,

I'm using "When a new email arrives (V3)" to trigger a flow when receiving a new email from a outside email address.  I can't see to get it to save with an outside email address.  It accepts the email address but if you close the flow and reopen it again the email address is gone,  also the flow trigger for any email that come into the inbox.  Is there something I'm missing or does it only work with internal email address

@stefen you're right,  there's definitely an error in that trigger.

    Hi @stefen

You could also use trigger conditions to achieve the scenario. I have posted an article on this one recently:  https://www.bythedevs.com/post/working-with-trigger-conditions-in-ms-flow

You can configure trigger condition with a simple equals statement and get this working.

About the bug on the action, you can create a bug request here: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/I-Found-A-Bug/bd-p/BugFound

    Hope this Helps!

I am running into this same issue. Why isnt this fixed yet? It renders the "From" field useless when external email addresses are input

I have also run into this issue. It is saves internal email addresses but not external email addresses.

    Pretty useless as JasonK says

    Hi @yashag2255

What do I need to change in the expression to equal the first part of the "To" email address?

I want to trigger on the "name" name@email.com or just match the whole email address.

you can add a condition to the trigger so that it only runs when that condition is true   @JonL has put up a tutorial on youtube on how to do this,  highly recommend that you follow his youtube channel too,  otherwise after the trigger you will need to add in a condition to check whether the email address matches what you are looking otherwise end the flow

Adding the condition should do the trick..  Thanks!

Hello, Could you please share the screenshot of your condition on trigger as I am having hard time finding the actual video that shows where/how to make the change?

    Appreciate it.

Hello, stefen. Please, what is the video in which @JonL explains that? I'm having a similar issue. When I type in on the "to" field an email adress that is form outside the organization, it disappears after I close the flow. Could you please explain or indicate where you found the solution for this? Thank you.
