Not understanding why a data refresh has to delete existing cards?
Very annoying and unexpected after spending a significant amount of time designing our forms the way we need them only
to have to restart the process just for a data refresh.

I just did a data source refresh, it would only delete the cards that has already been deleted from the data source side. If you haven't made any changes during the time, it will keep all the data cards. I'm not quite sure how did you encountered this issue. Would you please share more detailed infromation? Is it an edit form? Some screesshots would be even better.
