"Other" Field is Not Populating Through Power Automate Workflow

Hi,

We began to use Power Automate for Microsoft Forms responses to auto post in Teams Chat. It's been a great addition and has increased productivity. Everyone seems to be happy using it however we noticed a discrepancy when the option "Other" is filled out. The "Other" option is a field where the user can manually enter their response. Each time that field is filled out the Microsoft Form does not auto post in the chat however the response is registered on the results spreadsheet.

I've searched through various FAQ's but cannot find anything on how to set up the workflow for "other" option.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I've done so far

Build A Condition > Type of Request > Is not equal to > all other options > If No > Post message in chat

The issue you are facing likely occurs because the "Other" option in Microsoft Forms is treated differently than standard choice options

Open your Power Automate flow.

Trigger the form by submitting a response with "Other" filled.

Go to "Run History" in Power Automate and check how the "Other" response is recorded.

In your flow, locate the "Condition" step.

Add all predefined choices in the condition to check if the response matches any of them.

In the "If No" branch, add another condition to check if the "Other" field (or custom response text) is not empty.

If the "Other" field is not empty, post a message in Teams including the "Other" response.

If the "Other" field is empty, continue with the existing logic.

Save and test the flow again by submitting a form with "Other."

Confirm Teams messages now include "Other" responses.
