Link discussion board to sharepoint list

I'm using a SharePoint list as a case management tool.

I have a requirement whereby upon clicking save a discussion board should be created to allow staff to add case notes for each item that is created within the SharePoint list.

So instead of switching between a discussion board and a SP list. A discussion board link is available for each SP list entry that takes you to that specific discussion board.

Can this be achieved? Or is there an alternative/better solution?

Thank you

    @Polymerlight

    You can create a list entry in a discussion board with Flow and include a link in a SharePoint list item to that entry.

    I can provide an example if you want - just let me know.

    I think a better idea might be as follows:

    1. Turn on versioning for the list in list settings
    2. Add a multi-line text column
      1. Set the "Append changes to existing text" top Yes

    This will allow people to enter comments in the text box.  Each comment will be stamped with a date and time as well as the name of the person who added the comment.

    Hi Scott, your idea looks like the perfect solution!, I'll test and report back.

    Out of interest, there will be a large amount of comments can the just the comments be exported into ms word instead of the complete list?, including formatting, tables and the date/timestamp?

    I was also looking at trying Yammer would this also work in my scenario?

    Hi @ScottShearer tested your idea and it worked perfectly!

    However is there a solution to export all the case notes into excel or word, which includes the name of the individual who posted the comment and the time/date stamp?
