Hello,

I'm new to Flow and trying to connect to my Dynamics Org.   Can anyone help with the first step? Do I need a gateway?  Do I connect via Odata?  Thank you

    Hi @tdailey77,

Do you want to create connection to Dynamics 365 within Microsoft Flow?

Microsoft Flow only support connecting to Dynamics 365 Online currently, so it is not necessary to use a gateway.

If you want to create a connection to Dynamics 365 in Microsoft Flow, you should select a trigger or an action of Dynamics 365 connector within flow firstly. If you are the first to use Dynamics 365 connector, it would connect to Dynamics 365 automatically with current login account of Microsoft Flow, you could also add a new connection to Dynamics 365:12.JPG

Then it would prompt that login in Dynamics 365 with your Dynamics 365 account:13.JPGAfter that, the connection is created:14.JPG

In addition, please check and see if the following article would help you understand Dynamics 365 connector better:

Create a flow by using Dynamics 365 (online)

More details about Dynamics 365 connector, please check the following article:

    Dynamics 365 connector

    Best regards,

    Kris

Thank you for the reply, but if I have an On-Premise Dynamics on a SQL server, can I use a gateway?

From the article I read here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/flow/frequently-asked-questions

"Microsoft Flow is a public cloud service only. However, you can securely connect to your own on-premises services through the on-premises data gateway."

    Hi @tdailey77,

Do you mean that you have an On-premises Dynamics on a On-premises SQL Server?

I am not familiar with the On-premise Dynamics on a On-premises SQL Server, if you want to connect to On-premises SQL Server, you should use a gateway to create a connection to On-premises SQL Server.

    Best regards,

    Kris
