why does my flow create so many duplicates items - automated flow from list to planner

Hi everyone,

I've been working on creating manual and automated flows that transfer data from lists/excel to task/planner but despite the flow running successfully, the items are always duplicated at least 3 times. Is there a setting I need to disable or should I be adding an extra step to my flows so each item is only created once?

For example, this is my automated flow that creates an entry in Planner when a new entry is created in lists:

  1. When an item is created
  2. initialize variable
  3. list buckets
  4. apply to each: value
    1. apply to each (2): "assigned to"
      1. create task
      2. update task details

My list items:

The planner items:

The planner tasks were generated correctly, other than each item being duplicated 7 times... does anyone have any idea as to why they were duplicated?

Thank you so much!

    Hi @Cinna103

The reason for repeated tasks is that the Assigned To column is a multi-selection personnel column (causing Create Task to create duplicates in apply to each).
You can avoid creating multiple tasks by putting the mail of the multi-select person column into a string variable.
