Microsoft Form to CDS Entity

Hello,

I am trying to make a flow in which someone fills out a microsoft form that contains dropdown options in some of the questions,  and then it creates a record in a CDS Entity filling in identical fields in the CDS Entity.

I cannot even figure out how to start. In the create a new record you could not directly select the dynamic content whenever the CDS entity field is an option set. I attempted to do compose steps cause you seemed to be able to select those but it didn't work.

Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

    @Anonymous

Can you share screen shot of your flow to see the issue details.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Please refer to screenshot below to create the flow:

And if you want to set value to a choice field, you could choose to enter custom value.

    Best Regards,

@v-alzhan-msft  My situation is exactly this screenshot but it is the choice ones I am having an issue with. No options pop up to fill in choice fields.

@rsaikrishna  Another user just posted a screenshot of pretty much exactly what my flow looked like so I am just going to reuse that here. The issue is with the ones that are "choices" rather than just text fields. I have the identical choices in the form, but I see no options to push those answers into the CDS entity's drop downs.Screenshot Example.png

@rsaikrishna Another user posted a good screenshot, just going to reuse that because it is identical to my flow. As you see below filling in a text field is zero issue. But when i go to select the fields that have drop down choices, you get no options to fill them in from the form.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

I understand you now, it is an expected issue since the text dynamic content from the response wouldn't show in the choice type column.

You could add a Compose action to save the dynamic content from the response, and then you choose the output of the Compose in the Choice field.

@v-alzhan-msft  When i did that, it threw an error basically saying the that the information is in the wrong format....
I did figure out a different way this morning but it feels like here must be a better way. I basically started to put a condition for every dropdown question that says something like "(answer on form) = Yes" then i added the update record option and selected Yes from the drop down. I guess I will rinse and repeat for the rest of the questions.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

You need to learn to troubleshooting the flow.

What is the output of the Compose action when you create the flow as me?

And what is the error message in the create a new record action? could you please share the screenshot?

And could you please explain the choice field in the entity?

Please share those information so we could better understand your issue.

    Best Regards,

    Alice
