Make find on webpage case insensitive

Hi there,

I have a PAD flow which looks to see if some text is present on a webpage and, if it is, click a certain button.

Is there any way I can make this 'search' to see if the text is present case insensitive?  We sometimes have data from the business which we need to find on the UI and whilst there is only ever one instance of the text, it could be upper case or lower case, and we want to identify either as existing.

The vast majority of what is searched for is all lowercase, but sometimes the odd string which starts uppercase causes the PAD to not find the text on the webpage. 😞

Thanks,

K.

@Kosenurm Could you please try using 'Change text case' action in PAD. Refer below:

Thanks. I saw that action, but not all will be lower case on the UI it is searching.... our list of items input is all lowercase, but some may start with uppercase...

Is there a way to ignore case and just see if that text exists on the webpage?

    Thanks

    K.

@Kosenurm I would recommend you to get the data in a variable and convert it into Ucase/Lcase and compare.

                                                OR

    Use Parse text action

    Hi @Kosenurm

You mentioned "I have a PAD flow which looks to see if some text is present on a webpage"

Which action are you using to do this?

If you're using If Text on Screen (OCR) I recommend to tick the "Regular Expression" button and just putting (?i) at the beginning of your text, otherwise as VIR mentioned, we'll need more info on what method you're using.

We are selecting a Table on the UI, and displaying it's text. We then loop through this text until it meets the input condition; this is the part which is case sensitive. When it is found, it clicks a button on the UI. If not found, it loops to the next item in the input list.

    Thanks

Still not quite clear as to what you're using to meet this input condition during the loop and detect the text, are you using an IF statement action with an equals to? if you are, switch the operant to "Contains" instead as it has an option to ignore case.

If you're able to, drop us a screenshot of what your code looks like just like Ankesh_49 did with his.
