Delete files stopped working

Hi

I have created a power automate flow which is triggered on arrival of an email. The steps are:

1. An email arrives with attachment and triggers the flow (based on email subject)
2. files in a specific folder in share point are deleted
3. attachment from email is then saved in that folder

The flow has run successfully for over a year but for some reason this week (since Tuesday, 20.08.24) the step 2 (deleting files) stopped working and the flow just saves attachments.

I tried creating a manual flow that just deletes files and it did not work. I switch off the 'New Designer' when testing the flow and it did not help.

Here is status flow (in new designer) that shows 'delete file' action failed.  Status is 'skipped' with error ActionConditionFailed The execution of template action 'Delete_file' is skipped: there are no items to repeat.

Is anyone else experiencing a similar problem with 'delete files'?

Thanks

Asia

    Hi

Just to clarify there is nothing wrong with the delete.

The delete is clearly saying you didn't give me anything to delete.

So you need to review a full run, look at the Inputs and outputs the previous steps, then review the Input into the delete and you will find out why it says there is nothing to delete.

    Hi FLMike ,

Yes it looks like the previous step returned no values. This step clearly worked in the past (I checked outputs from runs that worked). This time I get this message in the Outputs of the 'get files properties' step:

Does it mean something changed in my account that stops me being able to get info on the files?

    Thank you for your help.

How many files are there in that folder? Are there subfolder in that folder?
Here is one thread I found on that: https://community.powerplatform.com/forums/thread/details/?threadid=f644864f-4981-4021-acc1-603ea9c337e3

@startover909 suggested that fix for that is to set "Include Nested Items" to "No" in the Get files -action.

If that doesn't work I would try to create new connection reference for the Get files action.

Also as a side note this post would belong to either "Building flows" (or "Using flows"?) area since that is for Power Automate (cloud). This is Power Automate Desktop which means the desktop application of power automate not the browser/cloud version (make.powerautomate.com). You will get better if the post is in the correct place.

    hi

That folder has only 3 files and no other sub-folders but setting up  "Include Nested Items" to "No" seems to work in test. I will see whether that fixed problem when the flow runs in real time.

Funny that I have 4 flows that work in a similar way, just different emails triggers them and files need to be deleted and saved in different folders and the runs work ok, just not this one.

Will mark the answer as 'solution' once I am sure everything runs correctly.

    Thank you
