Data Table variable manipulation in PAD

Hi everybody,

I have observed that very less functionalities available in the PAD. Once we get data either from excel or Sql query as a datatable variable, I need to manipulate i.e. filtering, sorting, adding, manipulating some columns data in it, even creating new data table from the previous data table, adding new rows in the data table, etc.

Does anyone have any idea how to do all those sophisticated data manipulation stuffs in PAD? I am unable to find any help from the documentation.

You can iterate your data table and do data manipulations.

Hi Sakula1996,
Thanks for the response and suggestion. This seems some way we can write the solution. I have some questions though. Does this loop writing and conditions checking affect the speed of automation anyway? I mean if we can use some way the .net framework like functions of the standard library then we can very well create efficient solutions.

Moreover i have found some details in the help documentation,

Hi @Rkmatieda , its a really good question. To be honest I'm not really sure about .Net framework.
Performance:
If you run the app from edit mode(where you can see all actions) it will be very slow because it's graphically showing every step.
But, if you run it from outside(see the screenshot) or from PowerAutomate it will be very fast.

Hi

My solution to your problem is somewhat creative, but I'm limited by the tools given in PAD 😉
If you can identify which rows need to be removed, then you can write your datatable to Excel and remove the rows using "Delete rows from Excel worksheet".
Alternatively if you have the Excel worksheet accessible then copy it delete the rows from the copy and read it. I hope this might help 🙂
