PowerApps cache issues

Hello all,

I have build couple of PowerApps wherein i am passing some parameters from SharePoint through URL to Power App based on which App loads all the data of controls. But most of the times i have to hard refresh the page and it doesn't load the data due to cache issues. Is there a way to tackle this from app so that every time an app loads it automatically clears cache?

Also is there a way to pass encoded parameters? Sometimes after few refreshes, browser converts parameter Title with "+" where ever spaces are there in Title passes in URL.

    Hi @uiit3155 ,

    Firstly, a space (%20) and + are the same in hyperlink land (they both work), so you can disregard that one.

    I am assuming here that these are SharePoint Integrated Apps ? If so, is your issue they are not working properly when you select another record in the SharePoint List without firstly refreshing the SharePoint page ? The problem here is that Power Apps regards the app as still "open" and does not run OnStart or even Screen OnVisible code unless SharePoint is refreshed.

    If this is the case, you cannot do much about it as the only item I find refreshes with each opening are the SharePointIntegration items.

    Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

    @WarrenBelz Thanks for your response.

    I am using canvas apps from scratch where i lookup for a record with title passed as parameter. So if + is there in the Title then it doesn't match with the record in SharePoint List.

    Also i understand that SharePoint integrated apps loads one time only, but i am using canvas apps in which controls are loaded with data based on parameter passed in URL. So most of the times it doesn't loads data until i hard refresh the page.  Even when i creates a new app it doesn't appear in the apps list in home page of PowerApps without hard refresh. Not sure how we can tackle this issue as it is appearing for all users and in all the apps.

    Hi @uiit3155 ,

    Probably (another) good reason for not putting spaces in field names. The + is more a behaviour of the browser than anything you can do in Power Apps. When you say "refresh" page, are you trying to send a parameter to an app that is already open ?

    Would adding a "Refresh" action for the data source at App.OnStart or Screen.OnVisible solve the issue?

    @Gilmour1 ,

    Both a complete waste of time and performance - the list loads its current state at OnStart and will show this on any control that resolves on a screen opening.
