How to update tasks by label/category

Hello!

I am new to Power automate, and would very much appreciate any help.

I am trying to update tasks in teams using PA, but only tasks that have a specific label (category 1 - pink label).

However, when trying to pull these, icannot seem to identify. Please see screenshot. Any idea why?

    Hi @polywantacracke

You could use the field "appliedCategories" to check for labels:

In this sample, I check that the task contains a "label" or category called Equipment.

    Hope it helps!

    Thanks! this is helpful.

However, i still have some issues. What I'm attempting to do is update tasks due date from an excel table, but only tasks that have a certain label. When I try to use to use a condition, it still updates all my tasks, regardless of the label. I assume I have something mixed up here..

You're using an incorrect condition (I'm able to read something like "value Pink"...).

Replace the if condition with the following:

    items('apply_to_Each')?['appliedCategories'] contains your_category_name

    Hope it helps!

Thanks! changing the condition does do the trick. My next problem (since you're so helpful::)) is updating a task in planner using values form a specific row. Any idea what fields to put in so it takes the output from the "get row"?

    Hi,

You should create a new column in your Excel file with 3 possible values: "Not started", "In progress", "Completed", and then use the row value when updating the task.

    Hope it helps!

Thanks. I want to update the due date, for which I already have a column in excel. But I don;t know how to refer to this column from this field:

    you should use:

    outputs('get_a_row')?['your_date_field']
