Dynamics 365 get lookup field text in Power Automate Create step

I am creating a flow which triggered on the update of a certain field on opportunity record and therefore flow is supposed to create a task. The description of task need to display a lookup field value from opportunity therefore how can i get the text value of lookup field? E.g. If lookup is Account, i don't want Guid instead name of account is required to be show.

Use the Get Record action step and pass the ID. You should be able to retrieve all the details related to that account.

Hi @UmerJaved ,

As suggested by @abm , we need to use lookup column id to get the corresponding record in the lookup entity.

Please refer to the method provided by @abm to configure your Flow.

Thanks @abm and @v-bacao-msft this works. However for customer type lookup "Get record" doesn't seem to work, is there any additional bit needed to add such as Type and how?

Hi @abm

"Potential customer" is a 'customer' type lookup(Account or contact) on opportunity in Dynamics 365 whereas my opportunity is for the contact hence when i use it(Potential contact) in the Get record to get the record and therefore name, nothing seems to happen and flow seems to be running forever with retry

Hi @UmerJaved

Make sure you are passing the right dynamic field mapping. If the GUID mapping is correct it should get the related record. Also if you have a composite lookup which accepts Account or Contact then check the type of entity for contact only before you pass the GUID.

Hi @abm Thanks, to be precise can you tell where do i need type check condition? The flow seems to be stuck at GetContact Action.

Go to you run history? Open the latest record. Click and expand the first trigger step. Check the output? Make sure you are passing the right mapped value here?
