Assistance with getting data from Forms

I need a little guidance. I know how I'd go about writing a query in SQL or PowerApps to get what I want/need but JSON syntax is a struggle to put it lightly.

I've been tasked with creating an adaptive card in Team when a Form is submitted. That's easy enough and I have it working. I've even managed to get the response to the first question showing in the card. The problem starts immediately after the first question.

The way the form was built (which I'm not prepared or authorized) to modify, it has denormalized the responses to every single question.

Since there are three choices in the first question, "Which system" basically, there are three different fields containing the response to "What type of assistance do you need?".

The good news is that responses to the subsequent questions are mutually exclusive so my plan is to just get the first non-null value from the "What type" question.

That's what I need help with.

What I've done to get started is adding a Compose step and use all three responses as the input.

My plan is to use that Compose step to do the filter so the output of Compose is the one string of text I care about that I can insert in the card.

@DCHammer Use the coalesce() function. You can use it to check multiple values in order and return the first one that is not null or empty.

For example, if question 2 and 3 had a response, this function would return the value from question 2.

    coalesce([question1],[question2],[question3])

Thank you for the excellent resources. I'm going to add the Coalesce function to what I have now so I only ever get one response value preventing headaches in the future. I'm also going to what your videos. I could definitely use the help.
