PowerApps and guest licensing

Hi Guys,

 

I have just spent the past few months working on some apps that update a SharePoint list. These apps were going to be used by guest users.

 

I made an assumption (like a few others out there) that the apps could be used by guest users without a license.

 

Financially it isn't possible for us to buy the licenses.

 

Is there an option to use rather apps to update the list?

 

Or is there another option with PowerApps that I am missing.

    The only option to use Power Apps with external users without a license would be to use Power Apps to customize the forms in the SharePoint list itself.  SharePoint Guest users can access the List forms without additional licensing.  Any guest user who uses a regular SharePoint Power App is required to have a license.  That license can be one from their own Office 365 tenant or one you provide them from your tenant.  This is all spelled out in the Official Licensing FAQ and in the following blog post.

    Yes.  Those integrated forms are the only ones that can be used by SharePoint guest users without additional Power Apps licensing.

    Not at this point.  There is no conversion feature available.
