I have a button that appends the content of a text field and the current time to another text field. It works perfectly for me, but for some users using Chrome the colon is converted to : so they get [11:55 PM] instead of [11:58:55 PM]
How do I fix this?

Could you please tell me that if this text field is a Multiple Lines Text type column?
I have a test and the situation is confirmed on my side that if you have a Multiple Lines Text type column and enable the "Use enhanced Rich Text", you do have this error.
For the Chrome issue, not sure if this is the point, please just disable the "Use enhanced Rich Text"
Or if you have a DisplayForm to display this text, please configure a card to use this control by clicking Field > Edit, and changing the control type from 'View text' to 'View rich text'.

The underlying SharePoint list field is Multiple lines of text -- Rich text (Bold, italics, text alignment, hyperlinks). It's possible I first created this field/column with enhanced Rich Text and then changed it to just Rich text. I will try re-creating the field/column as standard Rich text and try it again. Will post the results here after testing.
