Conversation ID - MailBox

Hello,

I wanted to create an email tracker for the emails received and sent but i'm not sure if the Conversation ID that you get from the action "When a new email arrives in a shared mailbox (V2)" is truly unique.

Does anyone know if it is?

    Hi @jfcricardo ,

Please refer to the definition of Conversation ID:

If you want unique identifier of the message you should use "Message Id" instead.

    Okay thanks,

So the MessageID is unique to an email itself.

What about the Conversation ID? Is it unique to a Conversation or it possible for it to be used for a different conversation?

    Your understanding is correct.

Conversation ID is unique for a conversation which could containing several emails.

    Hi!

I have a similar doubt. I'm trying to identify messages in a conversation, but all messages in the same conversation have different conversation_id. Please, can you help to achieve that?

    thanks!

    Hi @v-wenjuan-msft

I'm not seeing this behaviour unfortunately. In my mailbox, I have two emails which are grouped in the thread, but they have different Conversations Ids. Here is the view in Outlook, which has grouped the emails between the blue and yellow users:

But the Conversation Ids vary by a single character:

    Thanks @VictorIvanidze.

It's a pity that the Conversation Id seems so fickle. My flow is creating me a new record for nearly every email. I've not seen a match for a while.

I wonder in my example case, how Outlook knew to thread them. Annoying.

How to get the entire mail trail?
