401 Authentication Error After Successful Configuration & Testing

Hi Power Platform Forum!

A few relevant details off the top I'd like to provide before I explain the issue I'm hoping you can help me troubleshoot:
  • I have a personal Power Automate Free license that I've been using with my Office 365 personal subscription.

  • I have created and successfully deployed a once daily cloud automated recurrence flow that has been running everyday without manual intervention for months with my free license. The nature of the flow is to simply pull data referencing an Excel Online file that I own and maintain, then a following conditional action step based on the data in that Excel Online file.

  • The flow began to suddenly fail daily at the beginning of December with the fail point happening in the first "List Rows Present in a Table' action step. Stating a 401 authentication issue with my Excel Online file and there is not the appropriate permissions (full error message and details in attached screenshots)
I can't underscore this next point enough: even when I re-create the connection to my Excel Online file to re-authenticate, and then configure a new automated recurrence immediately after to test the re-authentication, which then triggers and runs through the entire flow successfully, in a few hours the authentication will fail again and connection to my Excel Online file is severed. It then is suddenly not able to dynamically reference the table I'm pointing Power Automate to retrieve and reference etc and the flow fails.

I've boiled this issue down to possibly a few areas that I'm hoping for some guidance or direction on:
  1.  Since the flow automatically triggers with my recurrence step once I completely delete and recreate the connection to my Excel Online file, this is not an issue of my free license and is still considered a basic connection.
  2. There may have been a change in the Auth0 token refresh or renewal process to ensure the connection doesn't become stale. Again, this flow had run daily successfully for months before this suddenly stopped working literally at the beginning of December.
  3.  I'm guessing this has to be some kind of new token authentication refresh issue that it cannot automatically maintain?
I've attached two screenshots:
  1. Flow Error & Action Step: showing where the flow is breaking during the first instance of power automate trying to access the Excel Online file. Error code is also present on the right hand side of this screenshot
  2. Table Reference Error: The "table' field here, will show this random string of letters and numbers when the connection is broken. When I fix the connection, it should be dynamically referencing the appropriate table name that I've created in Excel Online.
Let me know your thoughts. Is this an issue with the token or connection simply running stale after a few hours? If so, is this a new limitation of the free license that was not the case before? Any other input or suggestions for troubleshooting would be really appreciated.

Thank you!
Kurt
