Hi,

I user powerautomate to to create a file on my file server from email attachement

However, i can never get it to detect the gateway

My organization has a gateway that i use for refreshing PowerBI reports based on on-prem files but using power automate just is not working and the troubleshooting steps only suggests re-installing which is not helping

Is there something i am missing? Any help with this please

I currently  have my files on SharePoint and they are becoming too much for SharePoint to handle and reports refresh are failing (no SQL server available) my best option is to use file server

Thank you

Ola

    Hey @OlaHashem ,

re-installing gateway should resolve the issue. If still issue exists please check if the gateway is listed in data > gateway , if available remove it and try to create a new gateway again , check if that resolves the issue.

    Thanks

    Hi @OlaHashem ,

Can you also check if the person who setup the data gateway has shared it with you?

    Date > Gateways

Thank you for your tip but i talked to the gateway admin and he created a new one for me and made me an admin

I can see the gateway on powerbi but cannot see it in power automate
Is there a certain setting on the gateway that make it visible on power automate?

    Hey @OlaHashem

If you are are not able to see the installed gateway under the “Gateways” menu item or as an option to select in the dropdown when creating a connection in flow, check to ensure the region where you installed the gateway matches the region of your Power Automate. Cross-geo scenarios is not supported if they do not match, you will not be able to view or use that gateway(s) in that environment. You will need to install a new gateway in the region that matches your Power Automate environment region .

    Thanks

    Hi @OlaHashem ,

What does your admin see when he/she signs into the gateway?   As mentioned above, please also check the region.

    Hi Eric,

My admin cannot see anything in the gateway for power automate

We opened a ticket with MS and they said we have to have a premium account to be able to see the gateway in power automate

My gateway is installed in Canada Central region (i am based in Vancouver), it is the only region for Canada.

Do you have premium Power Automate account?

    Thank you
    Ola

    Hi @OlaHashem ,

I have a per user license.

We currently have flows using the connector via a service account for the connection.

Please refer to this post for further details.  The data gateway is a premium feature where you will either need a per user or per flow license.
