i think PA Flow will be easier for this,

In PAD I would do this

    1. get your file name and put it inside a variable

    2. Open the file > send hotkeys "CTRL" "S" to open the windows explorer for saving the file. Write the variable with date time as file name

    3. Save file

This is an article on how I like to Get Dates from PAD.  From there you can add it to any file name with the "Rename File" action.  So your flow would look something like this:

    For a single file:

'Get Dates until you get to %Today_mmddyy%

    Rename File %YourFilePath%\%YourFileName%.txt to %YourFilePath%\%YourFileName%_%Today_mmddyy%.txt

    OR

    for multiple files:

Get Files from Folder to %Files%

'Get Dates until you get to %Today_mmddyy%

Rename File(s) and rename %Files% by adding %Today_mmddyy% on the end (these are parameter options within rename file.)

    best of luck
