Hi,

Does anyone know if I can change a field in my sharepoint list datasource from 'Single line of text' to 'multiline of text without breaking existing and new flow runs?

Regards,

Daniel

    Hello @Anonymous ,

it depends how you use that field in the flow, for example if you use it in the 'Get items' Filter Query then it won't work with MLoT field.

    Hi @BlayneC ,

I did not try. Perhaps worthwhile setting up an experiment and testing to see if it does break a test flow.

If I get a chance I will test it. Unable to at the moment.

Please write back if you find the answer.

    Regards,

    @Anonymous

Going to wait till end of week to test as to not disrupt anything.

From what I can tell PowerAutomate should be unaffected depending on how you're using the text/string, but if you have a PowerApps that uses that SP list you might run into issue there with an edit text box being set to TextMode.SingleLine as opposed to TextMode.MultiLine.

I'll be back with results as I will need to make this change.

I´ve done that and it doesn´t work when using the Filter Query in Get Items action.

To make things work again you should try these:

Power Automate filter on Multiple lines of text SharePoint column (tomriha.com)

How to get back dynamic content after 'Filter array' in Power Automate (tomriha.com)

Now, i´ve stucked with the reverse action: changing from MLoT to Single Line.

Does anyone know how to do that without creating a new column?
