Create HTML table Action, but with variable columns

Hi All,

I have a SQL step, the outputted columns of which will likely change, for example, Run1, may output
  • AppId
  • Title
  • Score1
  • Score2
  • Score3
  • Comment
...while run2 may output
  • AppId
  • Title
  • Score1
  • Score2
  • Score3
  • Score4
  • Score5
These outputs need to be sent via email, so i use "Create a HTML table", and include that in the email.

BUT - the email does not need "Title", but I still need it elsewhere, so it must stay in the SQL query.

There are two options for creating a HTML table, and neither work for me:
  1. Automatic - this drops the full SQL Output content into a table
This does not work for me as it includes "Title"
  2. Custom - allows you to specify the exact columns
This does not work for me as the exact columns will change with each SQL run.
  3. There is always "Enter a Custom value" which I would love to work for me, but I have no idea what to put in there
I may be able to extract the column names dymically if I needed to for this options.

So brains trust, over to you - what can i do?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to look at this and help.

    Hi @GD-NH

There would be another easy approach to do this-

Assume this compose action contains SQL Output as shown below

Next use select action to remove the Title property using removeProperty function from each object in array

Now output from select action would have an array which does not have title property.

Now use Create HTML table to create table out of select action output.

So this way we can avoid the required property from json array

    Thanks & Regards,
    Nived N

That's  a standard "Remove item from object"  pattern, with lots of tutorials. Here's a random one Remove unwanted properties from an object using Power Automate
