Hi team,

I am currently facing an issue in power automate flow. I have a task to copy 20k+ plus files from list to library in SharePoint for which flow has been running. After 10 minutes of copying 230 files, flow displays an error "Flow run timed out. Please try again.".

Tried fix: Already updated the settings of Timeout for every action into P2D -> want to make the flow run for atleast 2 days .

Error: Still facing the error as "P2D"  is also not working and flow  doesn't copies any files further after 10 minutes.

Please help me!

Are you running this flow using the Test button in the flow editor? If so, be aware that the Test button has a hard limit of 10 minutes that cannot be changed.

Exit the editor and run the flow from outside (or trigger is with an outside event, depending on how you trigger your flow) and you should see it run for longer than 10 minutes

    Hi @Tomac ,

Thanks for your quick response. I tried running the flow as suggested from your end. It though run for more than 10 minutes now but stopped running after approximately 15 minutes.

Looks like it completed successfully and without errors in your screenshot, is there still an issue?

    hi @Tomac,

Yeah I can see only 239 files been copied into SP library as it stopped after 15 minutes. Issue is That I have 19K+ files remaining to get copied into that library. Thats why wanted the flow to run atleast for 2 days.

    Can you help here plz?

Please share screenshots of the successful flow run output. If it's finishing without an error, then it's not seeing 19k+ files so we'll need to debug that. I can't do that without seeing what you're working with.

    That's exactly what I needed!

The action Get Items has a default maximum returned items of 100. You can increase it by changing the "Top Count" value to a number between 1 and 5000, with 5000 being the maximum for the action.

There are several methods to work around the 5000 item limit, documented here: https://tachytelic.net/2020/04/many-ways-get-sharepoint-items-power-automate/

    Hi @Tomac,,

Thanks for this solution. As each trigger will read & copy 5000 items into SP library. So can you help me to add such a action in a flow which will not read & copy previously copied 5000 items in my next trigger.

How can I make my flow from read & copy next fresh set of 5000 in each trigger?

The blog post I provided gives multiple examples of how to iterate through each set of 5000 items - the simplest (but slowest) is here: https://tachytelic.net/2020/04/get-more-5000-items-sharepoint-power-automate/
