using email to approve/deny a request

hello everybody!

New(ish) Power Automate person here with mostly a question of "is this even possible" ??

I have a SharePoint list that has data that will be the result of a workflow.  As the flow moves forward, different flags/triggers get tripped.  I have one automation already that understands when there has been a change, and will notify someone on a POC list that the flow has gotten to that point.

However, the question now is:  Can I (only using Power Automate and SharePoint) have the email that is sent to the POC list have an approve/deny on it AND then have that email update the SharePoint, based on approve or deny?

I know that there are automations that trigger when an email arrives by a certain person, or to a certain folder but is it possible to update a field on the SharePoint with that?  Also, my initial thought would be that there would need to be more than one flow, depending on if this is approved OR denied, right?  would I / should I have like a 'to approve, click here or to deny click HERE' sort of thing?

Is there an easier way to do this without getting something like Power App involved?

Thank you all!

David

hi @davyjones looks like you looking for actionable messages where users can respond in Outlook and these days in teams with adaptive cards. It is a bit involve but luckily enough resources online. have a look for Tomasz Poszytek who have this well documented. you may need you devs to get involved as well.

    hope this helps,

    R
