drag and drop

Hi everyone, since yesterday the drag and drop feature in the flow designer in Power Automate hasn't been working for me. Does anyone know anything about this, or is it just happening to me?

You're not alone—many users have reported intermittent issues with the drag-and-drop experience in the modern Power Automate designer, including slow performance, layout freezes, and unexpected behavior.

    you can try:
    • Switch to the Classic Designer
    • Clear Browser Cache or Use an Incognito Window
    • Be Precise When Dragging Actions

Thank you so much for the quick response.
And although it's working again now, I should mention that I had to restart my computer. I'm not sure if the browser updates are also causing this issue. I had previously tried incognito mode and another browser, but without success.

Hi @Leonardo Urbano, adding one documented angle in case this is not just a transient glitch at your end.

A documented constraint that looks exactly like "drag and drop is broken"

Microsoft Learn states plainly that you cannot move a step before another step if you are using any outputs from that step. If the action you are dragging consumes dynamic content from an action above it, the designer refuses the drop - and from the user's side that is indistinguishable from a broken UI.

How the drop is meant to work

    • Drag the action by its title bar, not by the body of the card.
    • Release it over the arrow between two actions. The cursor changes to indicate whether the action is positioned correctly.

    Workarounds while you are blocked

    • Copy and paste actions instead of dragging. This is a documented alternative for duplicating or repositioning logic while designing a flow.
    • Remove the dynamic content references first, reorder the actions, then re-add the references. The same rule applies to deletion: you cannot delete an action whose outputs are used elsewhere.
    • Check co-presence. If someone else has the flow open at the same time, concurrent edits can cause conflicts - the designer shows you all current editors.

If none of the above applies

Then it is service side rather than something you can fix in the designer, and the right route is a support request from the Power Platform admin center rather than a workaround.
