Unexpected error: Failed to fetch - run history

Hi all,

All of a sudden, about a month ago, I am seeing the Failed to fetch error in all my flow run histories.

If the flow failed, I see this:

okiearcher_0-1680696337855.png

If the flow succeeded, I see this on some (can see the child actions, but can't select them):

On some of them I see this (can select the actions, but they have the error and return no data):

I have tried the suggestions I have found here of waiting before expanding the steps, copying the URL of the flow to a new browser window, etc., all to no avail.

Is there any relief in sight?

Thanks.

KeithB

    Hi @okiearcher

Can you share the screenshot of the flow in edit mode?

The screenshot where the action was successful, can you click on the click download to see what data is there? If it is null, mostly nothing is getting passed on in the actions.

    Hope this Helps!

    Hi @yashag2255

This is the top section of one of my flows edit mode.

    okiearcher_0-1680786388675.png

Run history of a successful run.

    okiearcher_1-1680786555621.png

On another run that was just 4 minutes before the one above, the actions in the Scope block were not skipped, but they still have the error banner and not displaying data.

It seems kind of random on what the run histories look like, with not all having the same issues.

Any other information I can give that might make it clear up?

    Thanks.

    Hey @okiearcher

    Firstly,

what is the datatype of the status field? Is it of type choice? If so, can you please replace the status to status value from the dynamic selector in the condition area?

Status field is 'single line of text'

Okay. In the first screenshot, the condition was not satisfied which is why the flow skipped the yes branch. Can you also check for any trailing white spaces in the data in SP?

After that, can you also share the screenshots of the flow in edit mode for the second part where you have the get attachment, and email with options action?

First, Thank you so much for taking the time to help me. It's priceless when you need collaboration! 🙂

No trailing spaces in the Status field.

    Here are the screenshot(s):

    Hi @okiearcher

One thing I noticed in your flow is that the send email with options action is in the loop where you are retrieving the attachments. This will send an email with options for every attachment on the list item. Is that how you want the flow to function? If not, you need to collect the attachments in an array variable in the attachments loop and then move out the email with actions (and trailing actions) and pass the attachments as an array to the email action.

Also, have you been able to run the flow successfully with all actions getting passed?

    Hope this Helps!

    Hi @yashag2255

    Yes, one attachment, one email.

It sends an attachment for review for a single project. Once the recipient reviews the attachment, they can Approve or Reject the project.

The flow is running successfully, but I cannot see any useful data on the run history.

    Hi @okiearcher

That is weird. I would recommend opening a Microsoft Support Ticket for this then.

    Hope this Helps!
