Triggering only one refresh when multiple changes is done i SharePoint list

Hello,

I have build a pretty simple flow, which triggers a powerBi dataset refresh, when SP list is modified.

The issue is, that 10 refreshes is triggered when 10 lines is added to the SP list, what from the flow logic perspective is fine, but i want to restrict it to only one refresh.

I am pretty new to powerautomate and having issues to provided a proper condition.
I tried to implement some variables and set delay actions, but nothing really works.
It always triggers as much refreshed as much updates is done... can you suggest anything please on how to solve this ?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

It sounds more like you want an Automated Flow, for which you can Schedule the time, say 1 times a day or 10 times a day, instead of based on the Modified or Created Trigger

Step 1.  Create a Scheduled Flow (aka reoccurring)

Step 2. Set the name and start times (schedule)

Then add your steps after the Trigger.

    However,

If you still want to do it based on Modified and Created triggers, we need to make that only 1 flow runs at a time. You can create a SharePoint list that tracks whens the last time it was updated, and when triggered check that. If it hasn't been refreshed yet, have states like

    Not Refresh

    In Progress

    Complete

Have the flow update these as it goes along.

To do this, you also need to set the Concurrency of the Trigger (under settings) to On and Set it to 1. this way only one instance of your flow runs at a time and you can update the "progress" without it getting overwritten by other runs.

Also give and take though. Scheduled refresh to me is a better option.

    Cheers

    hi @FLMike

thanks for coming back to me on this.

So re-occurence refresh was my initial idea and i have set it up every 5 mins... the refresh itself takes 2mins top, so it should be fine.

but first few refreshes only works, later on if keep failing with 429 error and the message

Alert: Your operation has been throttled.

I have extended the refresh window to 15 mins and to 30mins... but it gives the same error after few attempts.

the flow is very simple, please find details in the screenshot, so not sure why it is happening.
Does anyone have any idea how to improve this ?

    Hi,

You cannot refresh that much, as it will cause your to get throttled. You can onliy perform X number of actions etc in a time period denoated by your License and Capacity supported within that license.

I have no idea how many you have in a day, but its way less than the 288 (refreshed) x's # of actions x's however it gets calculated in the back end.

As I believe I have answered your post question, I'd be grateful if you can mark it as resolved.
