How does one create a Flow that will do file maintenance (ie delete feels created> X days ago) when the files are on a windows file server and can this be done without using Desktop Power Automate?
Currently we have access over a VPN to a windows file server that is on another network (owned by our software vendor). I regularly go into a sub-directory on this file server and delete files that were crated greater than 7 days ago. I access the sub-directory via a mapped rive that uses the local IP address on the Vendors side of the VPN (ie \\10.xx.xx.xx\Directory1\Directroy2\DirectoryX\ ) .
Is there way that power automate can be used to automate this process? If yes can it be done without using the Desktop version of Power automate? If you have any examples (ie videos or articles) detailing how to do something like these please share them. So far all I've seen for power automate and file maintenance is for only those things stored in/on SharePoint, OneDrive or a site like DropBox; nothing for good old fashioned local file server.
Thanks
Thank you.
Hi @edcarden ,
Just adding to the reply above.
To access a file server, you need to specifically use the Filesystem connector here and have a data gateway set up here.
Here is a video on setting up a data gateway.
