SharePoint Create Item "The Specified User Could Not Be Found" with SharePoint Create Item

Hi,

I have a few flows in Power Automate that are triggered by form responses, gets the response data and creates a SharePoint item in a list. There is an assignee field in the form where the user just simply types in the email address of the user they want to assign it to (I am aware I could do this better with Power Apps). These flows had worked for about 2 months, until recently every time someone submits the form it presents an error saying the user cannot be found.

In the below screenshot you can see the Logged By field which is automatically fetched from the Responder's Email Address (which is working fine) is matching identical to the Assignee Claims fields (had to blank out domain etc.)

I've tried using Office 365 Get User Profile (V2) also but was presented with the same error.

Also wanted to note that we have an account implemented to host all of the Power Automate flows throughout the business, but as far as I am aware there were no changes made to the licensing of this user etc. but it isn't logged into any PCs in recent time. Could this be causing issues with fetching users?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance 🙂

Have you tried creating a new flow and manually keying in the provided email addresses? basically try to see if the connections are corrupt in the one flow or if the account is bad. So if you manually typing the email into the two lookups works, that means there is something wrong with the flow/user. If it doesn't work there is something wrong with the addresses provided.

    Hey srduval,

Thanks for your response. I've tried hard coding the email addresses in and yep it seems to not be working. Can you advise what's best to do in this case? Is there any way to delete and re-add my SharePoint connection without having an impact on my dynamic content for my flows?

Create a new sharepoint list, and add a people picker column. enter the email address there, if that's still bad there is either a problem with the email address (try checking it against your active directory, and see if outlook can resolve it to an actual person.

You can go into the connections (under data I think in the left side menu) and reauthenticate the connection or add a new connection using your credentials and test the email against that.

It wants to have the claims of the user, not only the mail address.

So what you can do is to use something like this to get the claims of the user:

Thanks for your reply, however when I deleted and re-added the connection and using the Email Address the Assignee worked as initially intended.
