Word Template - There was an error accessing the file. Please try again or select a different file

I have a power app that a user goes through and selects certain parameters. Data is then passed via JSON to the power automate flow. That flow parses the data into different variables and then uses them in the Populate a Word Template function to create a document. The word template is in a Sharepoint Online site content / documents folder. I have also tried to place this document in a OneDrive.

This all works for when a user from our organization uses it, but when one of our sister companies tries to use it its says "There was an error accessing the file. Please try again or select a different file". I have shared the SharePoint site, the document folder, and the document itself with the user. I tried both SharePoint and OneDrive.  I googled and got nowhere, so I am hoping someone here can help.

    Hi David,

There we go, in your create file function, you have not mentioned ".docx" after the name of the file.

I have shown the same in the attached.

Please try and confirm if it works.

    Hi Laik

    Thanks for your help.

I continue with the issue, in the step for convert to PDF has the extension file.

Attached you can find more details about the configuration and the error.

    Have a great day.

    Hi David,

Hope you have specified the file type as yourfilename.pdf in the create file function. Rest all steps seems to be okay, unless if you expand these and share with me.

    Kind regards.

    Laik

Yes, it works for me even if there was no actual change... 🙂

But there was no actual change, literally just create the same flow again and it works?

Yes... it did work for me, and from that day, I always work on a backup flow for any changes and if that works I incorporate the changes in the main flow.

Please accept this as a solution 🙂

I have not found a solution myself. Did reworking your flow work for you?

    Hi Austin,

Were you able to find a solution to this issue? Even I am in the same soup now, so lets share a solution if you were able to. right now I am going to rework the whole flow again... hopefully it should work and would suggest you as well to rework the whole flow once again.
