Add custom command button to model driven app dashboard grid

Hi!

I was wondering if there is any way to add a custom command button to a grid that's in a model driven dashboard?

I've tried adding a custom command using the official maker through the model driven app editor, and also tried adding the custom commands using Ribbon Workbench, Nothing seems to be working, i've tried adding it to the SubGrid section, main form section and Main grid section in both command bar editors.

I need the same functionality.
Currently, for me anyway, Modern Commands don't work when the Grid is used in a Dashboard.
I guess that I need to revert to the classic methods.

Hi!

I've talked to the MS support team about this:
They told me custom commands are not being loaded on dashboard load, for performance reasons.
However with the customers approval, they can enable their loading.

We settled on the user clicking the row open into main form, and having the custom command displayed there.

However one thing that i personally noticed, is that if you go to a grid page, where the custom command is being loaded, and then go back to the dashboard, the custom command is displayed on the dashboard - i assume because it got cached when it was loaded in the main grid page.

All good generic advice, but none of it addresses the issue that Custom Modern Commands fail to render in a View used within a Dashboard.
According to the OP, Microsoft have now acknowledged that (OOTB) Custom Modern Commands will not render/load in a View used within a Dashboard.
So, we'll take that as an undocumented feature/limitation of Modern Commands as currently implemented.
I've added feedback to the relevant Learn Page.
