Formula SubmitForm() not working

Hi everyone,

I recently had this problem on my app.

I have a edit form where I can edit data from a Sharepoint list, the edit form does not show every column of the list bus just some of them.

When I edit the form and I click on the button Submit the form doesn't update the content on Sharepoint at the first click but it needs at least 2 or 3 clicks to get the changes on the list.

This is strange and very annoying.

Help me please

    @pfund How do you know it's not getting saved in the 1st click? Did you try to load the saved back into the App and view it?

    Because in the other window I have the Sharepoint list and its not updating any field, even if I refresh the page.

    @pfund After SubmitForm(), the Form will by default go into the Edit Mode and that's the best way to check if the record has been saved successfully. Also If the record was saved successfully, the OnSuccess() will be triggered. You can put a simple message there to test it out.

    @pfund

    Are you stating that the actual list is not updated on Submit, or that the information in PowerApps is not updated?

    Also, keep in mind that SubmitForm is an asynchronous process, so having anything after the SubmitForm statement will evaluate immediately after the SubmitForm function is instantiated - but NOT after the SubmitForm function has completed.

    You would want to move your Set formula to the OnSuccess and OnFailure actions of the form in order for your spinner concept to work properly.

    But, the first question I ask is more significant to your issue.

    Hello @RandyHayes ,

    Yes, the actual list after the Submit is not updating.

    Anyway I will try to change the Set formula on the On Success action.

    @pfund

    Then you are most likely getting an error in the SubmitForm.

    To verify, place this formula in the OnFailure:  Notify("Fail")

    and in the OnSuccces : Notify("Success")

    Try your submit again and see which message you get.  If you get Success, immediately look at your list and see if the results are there.  If they are not, then we can dig deeper into the form datacard update proeprties.

    If you get Fail, then I would advise running the monitor tool to see exactly what is failing.
