Can anyone help me with deeplinks?

I've got my link working as far as it takes me to the right display screen instead of the home page but it doesn't always display my record. Sometimes it does, but more often than not, it shows 'Getting Your Data'. I have access to the relevant sharepoint site and the record loads up in read only format.

If I refresh the screen, the record usually loads up but it adds a # to the end of the URL.

If I refresh another few times, the # remains in the URL but it goes back to showing 'Getting your data'.

My deeplink is this:

https://apps.powerapps.com/play/[APP ID]?ItemID=Number

When it opens in a broswer it's the same but with an /e after play - don't know if this is relevant or not!

https://apps.powerapps.com/play/e/[APP ID]?ItemID=Number

Any ideas why it is glitching like this?? It's too inconsistent for making the end user experience a good one!
