Moving SharePoint page approval flow from Default environment to Production managed environment

Hello everyone,

How can we move a SharePoint site approval flow from the Default environment to a production managed environment?

We're having issues with users that are leaving the organization and the flows are erased or left orphaned and stopped. I've not been able to recreate the flow from scratch on the production or sandbox environments. Any documentation that's available?

Thanks!!

    Hi @RadBad ,

Have you tried the solution? It is used to import components into new environments.

    Hi @v-xiaochen-msft ,

Yes I have! I've even recreated the flow from scratch and for some reason when the user edits the SharePoint site page, only the approval flows from the Default environment are visible for selections.

I've named the new flow in the managed environment

and this is the flow that should be visible when the user clicks on the

    button.

And yet, only the flows from the Personal productivity environment are selectable

I can't find any good solution!

    Hi @RadBad ,

Could it be caused by permissions?

Is the flow in the managed environment already shared with users?

Besides, how did you create the button 'Submit for approval'? Could you share the steps for it?

    Best Regards,

    Wearsky

    Hi @v-xiaochen-msft ,

    Which permissions are you mentioning?

Yes the flow is shared with the dev team for now.

The initial flow was created with the default SharePoint functionality for page approval:

    • SharePoint page > Settings > Site contents > Site Pages

    RadBad_0-1681394841188.png

    RadBad_1-1681394879393.png

Then on the top menu Automate > Power Automate > Configure page approval flow

    RadBad_2-1681395032220.png

This brings up the right side pop-in

    RadBad_3-1681395122229.png

Hope this makes sense to you!

This Instant flow is by created in the default environment of the user that has full owner rights of the SharePoint pages.

We need to move these flows to a managed environment and part of multiple solutions.

    Hi @RadBad ,

I guess the flow permission caused the issue.

    Could you check it?

    Hi Wearsky,

Thanks for the idea and I did check. Because the flow is in a managed environment I can't share it with the SharePoint pages so it can be part of the SharePoint Automate menu. This it the problem! I'm trying to find a workaround.

In the owners options for the flow I only see this:

    Thank you for your help!

    Cheers,

    Radu
