Migrating Nintex flows to Power Automate

Hello,

I'm hoping there is a way to convert Nintex workflows to Power Automate without having to completely recreate them.

My office is moving away from Nintex and fully embrassing MS.  The flows that I have running at the moment (about 15 total), will stop working in 15 months.  I've been trying to recreate them in PA, but it's slow going.  I'm fairly new with the MS flows, at least in comparison to Nintex.

If someone has a magic wand I could borrow to migrate them, I would be forever grateful!

We are currently going through this. You need to completely rebuild the flows. However, it is a good time to make improvements and change how you do things to accommodate how things can be done with Power Automate. In every process we've migrated, we've made significant enhancements to every process. Fifteen flows should not be too much of an issue, we had several hundred and are down to our last dozen or so to migrate. Good luck!!

We did work with a company that has experience with migrating flows, and they helped with migrating a number of our critical flows. They were not cheap, though. Here is their website: Sustainable, AI & Cloud Business Services | Avanade

Ugh!  That's what I was afraid of...  Unfortunately we cannot use an outside vendor for the migration, so I'll trudge forward!  I appreciate the confirmation though.  At least I  won't be wondering if there isn't another way.

A few big things you need to keep in mind when migrating from Nintex to Power Automate:
    1. Power Automate has no wait for a field to be updated action.
    2. Power Automate flows timeout after 30 days whereas Nintex timeout after a year.
    3. Approvals in Power Automate do not have reminders or escalations, and timeout after 28 days.
There are ways to achieve all of the above, but it's not as easy as with Nintex.

There is a website now that has a tool that converts Nintex Workflows directly to Power Automate. It's called Flow Migrator. https://www.flowmigrator.com/
