Native Camera stopped working?

I have an instant flow that takes a text input and a file input.

This flow has worked fine and when I ran it my Android Phone(Pixel 5 running latest version of Android) asked me for the source of the file and offered me the camera and the option to choose a file from various storage locations.

All of a sudden the option to use the native camera as an input has gone and I can now only choose to add an already stored file.

Has anyone come across this issue? Any clue whats happened?

Hi Malcyt,

I had the same Issue earlier this year.
After raising the issue at the support Mail i got the following Answer on September 27.

"Thank you for letting us know. We’ll create a task to track adding a camera feature back but it may not be something that we can take up right away given the priority of other tasks."

So I think the Android-Version will get the feature back eventually.

Is using an IOS-Emulator Possible for you? The IOS-Version is still using Version 2.36.4 , which allows to use the native camera in File inputs.

I have same issue right now in iPhone 14. I used to take pictures of receipts and have them upload into OneDrive and control in excel. Now I can not take the picture directly from the app…this is really bad. Any solution?

I'm having the same issue with iPhone. My business depends on having access to the native camera to take pictures of expense receipts. It seems once per year I have to spend countless hours reworking half of my flows because something changes, even though I have changed nothing in the flow. Its disappointing that this problem has existed for over 6 months already, especially when its related to a Microsoft provided flow template. Looks like time to find a better provider for my small business needs.

I just found that one of my employees has version 2.26 and is still able to use the camera or select a file. I have version 3.0.421 on my iPhone and do not have access to the camera.

Unfortunately, the camera will no longer be available to Power Automate. See microsoft response below.

I finished my research and as it turns out the camera functionality will no longer be supported going forward.

I followed up to the product team regarding this and they explained this is AS-IS by design of the platform going forward.

One more thing that can be done on your behalf is you can submit feedback to have this re-implemented to our ideas forum. This can help for this feature to be considered and implemented into the product sooner. Here is a link where you can submit feedback regarding this feature.

Pretty bad decision...I think it would not be such a big deal if the function let you get into the camera roll (Iphone specifically) but the worst part is that directs to the FILE app...what is not the location where pictures get saved and get one there is quite a procedure.

New version of the app in IPhone is now allowing to choose the camera again! ☺️
